JellySplit · Effective date: October 11, 2026
This privacy policy describes how Cellmata (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use JellySplit (the “App”).
This policy covers the current JellySplit 1.4 app and the upcoming JellySplit 2.0 release for iPhone and iPad. Version 1.4 (1.4.4 and earlier) stays on a device until you update it. These versions collect different data, so each section says which version it describes. The version 1.4 sections also apply to the current Android app.
Game data on your device. Your progress, records and settings stay on your device. JellySplit 2.0 has no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for your real name or email address. Your hint balance and hint history also stay on your device.
Ads. The free version of JellySplit shows ads from Google AdMob. Sometimes an ad shows when you leave the result of a finished round. You can also choose to watch an ad for 3 extra Campaign moves, 5 extra Arcade seconds, or 3 hints. Each Campaign round or Arcade run allows one extra chance. Google and its partners can collect your device's IP address (to estimate a general location), an identifier for the app or device, the ads that you see and how you interact with them, and diagnostic data such as crashes and performance. They use this data to show ads, measure them, limit how often they show and prevent fraud.
Tracking permission and consent. JellySplit asks once for permission to track you. If you allow it, Google can use your device's advertising identifier to show ads that match your interests. If you do not allow it, the advertising identifier is all zeros. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you answered this question in version 1.4, iOS keeps your answer after the update. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a US state with a privacy law, Google's consent message asks for your choices before ads load. In the App, Settings → Privacy choices lets you change them. JellySplit asks only for ads that are suitable for all ages. You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Remove Ads purchase. Remove Ads is a one-time in-app purchase through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your payment details, your Apple Account or your name. The App checks the purchase with Apple on your device and keeps a note on the device that ads are removed. The App sends no purchase receipt to our servers. If you share gameplay results, a Campaign result says whether its extra moves came from Remove Ads or an ad, as described below. After you buy Remove Ads, the App no longer starts Google's ad software. You receive unlimited hints and one extra chance per Campaign round or Arcade run without an ad: 3 extra Campaign moves or 5 extra Arcade seconds. An earlier JellySplit Pro purchase counts as Remove Ads. To restore the purchase on a new device, use Settings → Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account.
Gameplay results (optional). After your first finished Campaign round, the App asks if you want to share your results. Nothing is sent before you tap Share. If you choose Share, JellySplit sends a summary of each finished Campaign round to our server: the level and its version, the target and move limit, your score and stars, the number of moves, pops and chain waves, how the round ended and what you chose next (for example Try again or Next level), the times spent planning, playing and waiting, the first move at which you popped jellies or made a chain, how many times this device has started the level and how many levels you had completed, whether you used the 3 extra moves and whether they came from an ad or from Remove Ads, the app build, and for each of the last 128 moves the score change, pops, chain waves and whether two colors popped in the first wave. Dates are whole days. A random number identifies the round, so that we do not store it twice. We do not send your name, an account, a device identifier, the advertising identifier, contact details or the positions of jellies or moves. Our server does not keep your IP address. We use the results only to tune the difficulty of the levels. You can stop sharing at any time with Settings → “Share anonymous results”. Results that were not sent yet are then not sent. Arcade, Daily Puzzle and Clear the Board do not send these optional gameplay results.
Online leaderboards. When you finish an eligible Arcade run, JellySplit sends your score to the online leaderboard for that board size (5 × 6 or 7 × 8). Pauses are allowed. Runs that use the extra 5 seconds do not rank. Campaign has no online leaderboards. Each submitted run includes the board size, the seed (the number that sets the starting deal), the game rules version, the app build, the swaps you made and when you made them, and a round ID. It also includes the number and length of pauses, the time from your first swap to the end of the run, the jellies you popped and your longest chain. Our server uses this data to check the score with the game's rules and show the run details.
Your leaderboard name and public run details. The first time, the App makes a random secret key and keeps it in the keychain of this device. Our server keeps only a fingerprint (hash) of the key. It gives you a random player ID and a name such as “Berry Jelly 4821”. You can change the name in Settings or on a leaderboard. Other players see your name, your best score on each board, your rank and the details of that run: pauses, paused time, active play time, total time, jellies popped, longest chain and number of swaps. Choose a name that contains no personal information. We do not send your device identifier or advertising identifier. Our server does not keep your IP address. The leaderboards and the optional Campaign results share no ID, and we do not combine them.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and username. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from the provider. We do not store your password — authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider.
Game data. We store your game progress and statistics to provide gameplay features.
Leaderboard data. If you choose to set a public Classic handle, we store and may publicly display that handle with your Classic score, rank, run date, and related run metadata used to validate the score. Do not use your real name or other personal information as your public handle.
Analytics. We collect anonymous usage events (e.g. screens viewed, games played) associated with a randomly generated device identifier. If you are signed in, events may be linked to your user account. We do not collect device hardware identifiers.
Crash reports. We use Sentry to collect crash and error data, which may include device model, operating system version, and application state at the time of a crash. This data is used solely for debugging.
Ads. Version 1.4 shows ads from Google AdMob: banner ads, ads between puzzles, and an optional ad that you can watch for a hint. It shows the same Google consent message as version 2.0. On iPhone and iPad, it asks for the same tracking permission. On Android, Google can use the advertising ID of your device. You can reset or delete this ID in the Android settings (Privacy → Ads). Google and its partners collect the data that the Ads paragraph for version 2.0 describes. JellySplit Pro removes the banner ads and the ads between puzzles.
Purchase information. In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment details. We receive a record of your purchase entitlements (e.g. whether you own JellySplit Pro).
We do not use leaderboard data or gameplay results for advertising or tracking. We do not sell this data or send it to advertisers. The leaderboard names, scores, ranks and run details described above are public.
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Version 2.0. Leaderboard scores and names stay until you delete them. The database keeps a restore history for 7 days, so the last copy of deleted data is gone 7 days after the deletion. Our server deletes gameplay results 400 days after it receives them. Google keeps ad data as its privacy policy describes.
Version 1.4. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Analytics and crash data are retained for up to 12 months. Public leaderboard entries may remain available while we operate leaderboard features unless you contact us to request removal. When you delete your account, all associated personal data (profile, game history) is permanently removed.
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to restrict processing and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA to know what data we collect and to request deletion.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls on our databases. The leaderboard server keeps only a hash of your secret player key. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
